Horizon Outlet Center - Monroe is an outdoor outlet mall located at 14500 Laplaisance Road in Monroe, Michigan, approximately 25 miles south of Detroit and near the Ohio state line. The mall sits in a suburban area that is not a major tourist destination but is accessible via nearby highways, including Interstate 75, which provides visibility and access. The surrounding region features a mix of residential communities and some local attractions such as parks and historical sites, but the mall itself is somewhat isolated from high-traffic tourist corridors. Originally opened in the late 1980s as Monroe Factory Shops, Horizon Outlet Center was once a popular shopping destination drawing visitors from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. It housed a variety of well-known outlet stores including Nike, Reebok, Gap, Levi’s, and Old Navy. The typical retail mix focused on fashion, footwear, and sports apparel brands offering discounted merchandise.
